Mais Con Yelo or Corn with Ice is a Filipino sweet and refreshing snack food consists of layered shaved ice, corn kernels, sugar and evaporated milk. This delicious iced treat is similar to Saging Con Yelo and Halo-halo that is also popular especially during hot season in the Philippines.


I remember when I was in Taiwan, I used to buy Mais Con Yelo in a Filipino Carinderia. The sweet and buttery flavor of the corn kernels with shaved ice, sugar and evaporated milk is truly refreshing especially when the weather is hot. Eating this sweet iced dessert is one of the coolest way to beat the heat during my stay in Taiwan back then. Its delicious taste reminds me how good it feels to be back home.

It's so easy to prepare, and in less than an hour you can share and enjoy this with your family and friends.

Ingredients:

Crushed ice
1 can corn kernels
Sugar
Evaporated milk

Note:

Add sugar according to your taste.

Procedure:

1. Crush the ice. Set aside.
2. Drizzle the caramel syrup inside the glass. Put crushed ice in the glass. Add corn kernels. Add sugar according to your taste. Cover with crushed ice. Add evaporated milk.  Add again with corn kernels on top and drizzle with caramel syrup.
3. Serve and enjoy.
